Records has announced that in conjunction with NPG records it will be releasing Prince's seminal 1987 double-album 'Sign 'O' the Times' in a remastered and deluxe packaged box set. The Super Deluxe Edition opens with Prince's iconic album, Sign O' The Times, dazzlingly remastered for the very first time by Prince's original mastering engineer Bernie Grundman. The set also includes an entire previously unreleased audio recording of Prince's Sign O' The Times tour performance in Utrecht, Netherlands, on June 20, 1987.

New official Prince album features unreleased recordings The Prince Estate in partnership with Warner Bros. Records has today announced the release of Piano & A Microphone 1983 a brand new album that features previously unreleased home studio cassette recording of Prince at his piano captured in 1983. This is effectively a private rehearsal which provides a rare glimpse into Prince's creative process as he works through songs which include 17 Days and Purple Rain (neither of which would be released until 1984), a cover of Joni Mitchell's A Case Of You, Strange Relationship (not released until 1987 on Sign O' The Times) and International Lover. 'T his raw, intimate recording, which took place at the start of Prince's career right before he achieved international stardom, is similar in format to the Piano & A Microphone Tour that he ended his career with in 2016,' said Prince Estate entertainment adviser Troy Carter. ' The Estate is excited to be able to give fans a glimpse of his evolution and show how his career ultimately came full circle with just him and his piano.' The deluxe LP+CD edition of Piano & A Microphone 1983 This new release will be available as a special CD+vinyl LP deluxe edition which will include a 12-inch booklet featuring brand new liner notes written by Prince's then engineer Don Batts, as well as candid shots of Prince including never before seen photos. Sign o' the Times is the ninth studio album by American recording artist Prince, released on March 30, 1987, by Paisley Park Records and Warner Bros. The album is the follow-up to Parade (1986) and is Prince's first album following his disbanding of the Revolution.

BURBANK, CA--(Marketwire -04/01/12)- Warner Bros. Records has announced that in conjunction with NPG records it will be releasing Prince's seminal 1987 double-album 'Sign 'O' the Times' in a remastered and deluxe packaged box set.
This marks the first time any of the Minneapolis musician's albums have been given the 'deluxe box set' treatment and only came about after extensive negotiations between Prince and Warner Bros Records. The Purple Rain star famously fell out with his longterm record company in 1993, which led to the widely ridiculed decision to change his name to an unpronounceable symbol. However recent years have seen a thawing in the relationship between artist and record label and the stalemate which had previously seen both sides largely ignoring each other was finally resolved late last year.
The set will comprise a double vinyl gatefold and CD slip case version of the album itself along with an additional CD of B-sides and remixes. Also included is a glossy 12x12' booklet featuring photos and artwork, a collection of postcards (including an enlarged die-cut replica of the 'Heart' label featured on the original album), and a limited edition poster (available in 500 numbered versions of the set only).
Pricing is yet to be announced.
